I believe that every person has the innate ability to move toward health and healing, and has the capacity to achieve it. My approach is to work in partnership with clients to identify what their goal is and how they want to approach making changes. In my experience, psychotherapy has the potential to change learned pattern responses, resolve traumatic events, and heal destructive relational patterns.
I have been inspired by the power of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) in working with trauma and complex traumas, relational and attachment traumas, grief, anxiety and depression. In all of my training, EMDR Therapy has proven the most effective and comprehensive model of therapy for healing.
I am certified in EMDR, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, an EMDR Institute and TRN/HAP Facilitator, and an EMDR Specialty Trainer. I am also a senior trainer in treating recent traumatic events with individuals and groups. I integrate body-oriented psychotherapy, multi-phased trauma treatment, internal family systems, attachment theory, narrative therapy, couples, and family therapy models into EMDR Therapy.
